I can’t seem to get a straight answer on this question. I have had an established corporation (S) in the state of Florida for several years. Recently, I’ve come into some trouble with disputes with the Yellow Pages and have racked up about 10K in debt. It will likely grow to about 15K. Now, this account is under my business name with me as the contact. They have threatened harming my good personal credit as this is a small business and I am the only contact listed for the corporation with the state. However, I thought the whole point of having a corp and paying all those fees every year was to help limit my liability to debts with my business. So can they mark my personal credit over this? If so, can I successfully dispute it with the credit bureau? TIA for any informed opinion!
micro: i can’t sell the company. it’s just a small computer service company. it really won’t be worth anything with debt attached! why do i have full liability? I’m an officer, not a sole proprietor?
loan?! do people even read q’s here. I have no loans for the business. i OWE money to the yellow pages that I A)can’t afford and B)don’t feel I owe based on mistakes they made. no loans here, just collections from the all powerful phone company yellow pages

Just need a ballpark figure to work towards. I don’t even know for sure how much in debt I am everything is in such a mess. I know it is at least 20,000. I live in Missouri and I have no money to work with debt settlement companies. I can barely keep my utilities on. I barely have a place to live for now. I need to do something or just give up and I am not a give up type of person.

If I owe a creditor money for an internet service bill from my failed BUSINESS venture, will it show up on my PERSONAL credit report?
If I owe a creditor money for an internet service bill from my failed BUSINESS venture, will it show up on my PERSONAL credit report?
The original creditor (and now collection agency) has my sole proprietorship EIN number on the account and my business name as the “name” of the account owner.
Neither my real name nor SocSecNum are tied to this account. I don’t think the creditor/collector has either pieces of this information.
If I have no interest in protecting the credit rating of my business name and EIN, should I even bother paying this bill?
I only wish to protect my PERSONAL credit, not my business’ credit. The business is now defunct anyway. I can always file for a new EIN number if I get another business going, right?

I just graduated college and have a good part time job. I make pretty decent money and am trying to keep my bills low but I do have rent utilities and a phone bill. I dont know if I should transfer to a low interest card or 0% interest card for 12 months or get a personal loan or call credit counseling or what to do. I wont be able to make very big payments possibly up to 200 a month. My card right now has over $300 minimum payments. What should I do???? HELP!

plus an auto loan I did for someone in 2002, my debt is more than my income. Does anyone know if it would make sense for me to file for such a small amount. I have already talk to a lawyer’s office about it I just need a second educated opinion from someone who would know.
I don’t own anything I still live at home I live in Michigan so jobs are very hard to come by I just want to make a fresh start.

I owe about 11,000. My FICO score is good and none of my bills are delinquent. I want to maintain my FICO score as best I can while consolidating my bills to reduce interest and pay down faster. I cannot qualify for a personal loan due to my credit to debt ratio, and not being a homeowner. Is consumer credit consolidation better than debt settlement ?
I always pay more than the minimum payment, sometimes twice the payment, however, 2 of my cards were taken over by another bank and they raised my interest to almost triple what it was when the debt was incurred. The payments I was making was reducing the debt quickly, but now with the new interest rate I had no control over, the whole payment seems to go to interest.
