personal debt
Tarrah asked:

I’ve been sued for a credit card debt originally totaling $1100, I’m now I’m being threatened with an enforcement of the judgment. A garnishment of my wages (I’m a homemaker), placing a lien on property (don’t own any) or levy of any non-exempt real or personal property (what?) and I have no idea what I should do? I really need some advice on this topic.

I recently paid off ALL of my CREDIT CARD DEBT. Was over $40k just a few years ago. . . So I called to cancel my credit cards and close my accounts. I also asked them to remove my name from their databases. They said they have to keep my personal info for tax purposes? I want my name out of their SERVERS! Help!

I have a personal loan with my bank which is very good. They won’t help me with anything else until I pay my loan down some and I’ve had it for nine months. I’ve got a few debts that I’d like to get paid off and combine into one monthly payment. I don’t know if any other bank will help me or not. My credit is really good and the only thing wrong is I’ve got high balances but the items are in good standing. If anyone knows who I can check with about consolidating my debt and getting those high balances paid off please let me know.

I was thinking about taking out a personal loan to pay off some of my credit card debt (about 13k). The loan would be at lower interest than my current credit cards. Should I do this, or are there any other suggestions?

All of the debt management companies I have spoken with say that CashCall is considered a payday lender (even though I have a $5,000 personal loan) and cannot be included with credit cards.

I am a victim of identity theft and am in the process of disputing everything and reporting everything to the credit agencies as well as the police. The paperwork that I am coming across is asking me to prove that I did not create a debt. How am I supposed to do that especially if someone has all of my personal information and is using it?

I have some debt. I have $400 a month going to credit cards and personal loans. Would a girl not date a guy who has these liabilities. I am college educated, and I pay my bills on time. However, I lost money when I had to make a job transition. Any advise ladies? I have to work 7 days a week because of the debt.

I am in the process of trying to get out of debt(or close to it) as fast as possible. The main thing i’m worried about is my credit card debt which is $7,000-8,000 because my student loans and my car have good rates. Is it worth it to consolidate my cards into one payment or should i just try to pay one card off at a time and pay minimums on the other cards? Any advice, or personal experiences would help.

A friend and I have been kicking around the idea of starting a non-profit 501c organization. Because of student loans and other debt issues, plus a recent tax lien, my credit rating is poor right now. To fund the venture we will be seeking grants mainly, no private loans. Would my personal credit situation be a problem along the way? Thanks for your help.
