I live in Colorado and filed for a divorce about 2 months ago. Since I filed, my wife has spent a tremendous amount of money buying personal items such as clothes and jewelery for herself. She was served the paperwork for the divorce about a month and a half ago and the paperwork stated that you are not suppose to run up the debt, cancel insurance ect. My question is how much of the debt will I be responsible for?

We were sole proprietors when we started our business and got some credit based on that. We later incorporated. Within a year we sold the business and the deal did not go well (he’s not paying). So, we are probably going to have to file corporate bankruptcy due to debt we now can’t pay off. Will this impact our personal credit?

I am willing to pay an interest rate of up to 18% if possible. I am also interested in starting a high quality woodworking business which I will provide 30% of the revenues for the 1st year being reduced by 5% per year till the debt is paid.
