I have two credit card that has a total of $19,000 debt with a crazy APR of 24%. I got an offer from another creadit card company that’s offering a personal loan up to 35K with an APR of %7.99. Should I go ahead and consolidate my two CC debt and get the low APR personal loan? Would getting another loan decrease my creditt score? Thanks.
By the way, this is not an offer from a credit card consolidation co. It’s from Capital One offering a personal loan w 7.99APR for the life of the loan.

I recently paid a debt in full but the debt collector says that they will not fax a receipt to me. They say the only way is for a bank or someone looking into my credit to fax them a inquary request and they will fax something to them. Is this right. Why cant i get a receipt for my own personal records?

This is actually my mom’s debt that I feel was wrong for a debt collector to have done. I received a call from this collector of any attorney’s office who was trying to reach my mother. He explained that he was a 3rd party collector who purchased the debt from the original debtor to collect themselves.
He gave me her previous and current home address; 2 of her credit card numbers (full 16 digits); and he literally read off her credit report (other debts; amounts owed; vehicle information). The other important detail is that he gave me exact numbers of the total amount she owes and what arrangements can be made to pay off the debt (no arrang. accptd) After this conversation, not a week later, I received a letter in the mail directed to my mother saying that “per their agreement” a settlement was accepted to make 2 payments (one per month) to pay off the debt. SHE NEVER EVEN SPOKE TO THIS GUY NOR DOES HE HAVE HER NUMBER OR AN ACTUAL ADDRESS OF WHERE SHE LIVES! Any suggestions?

I was checking my credit score with creditkarma.com and found out that my score lowered a lot due to outstanding credit card debt. The report calculated my score based on the debt from my credit cards, but not from my personal line of credit. If I “payed off” my credit card using my line of credit, would that improve my credit score?

I am carrying about $13,000 at on a CC and have been offered a personal loan from my bank. I am hoping to buy a house in the next few months. Am I better off to keep paying CC or moving to the loan when it comes to getting approved for the mortgage? My concern is the type of debt more than the percentage interest.

I have tried everything to control and consolidate my debt. Personal finance loans, switching credit card balances to low apr cards. I was out of work for about 5 months and now my debt/credit ratio is in the crapper. Now I cannot do anything. I tried a personal finance loan, signing up to switch cards, and no one will touch me. I have a good credit score, I never miss a payment and when you look at how much I dole out a month compared to what I would be paying on a loan, I would pass LESS on a loan than I pay a month now. What else can I do? I am drowing under the interest.
