I was trying to consolidate my debt and the personal loan that i took out is a secure loan. I do not have problems paying my loan on time, but i need to find a lender who will make me a loan for the amount i owe now so i can get my car title back. I don’t have the best credit so i’m having a difficult time. Any help out there!!!!!!

im about 25k in credit card debt from school and a bunch of family and personal things and there are about a thousand commercials or websites claiming to get you out of debt but i have a pretty good idea they will all ruin my credit and any chance i have at buying a house in the future. if anyone has a suggestion or a tip for what they have done in the past that will hurt my credit score the least i will be grateful. thanks

I have tried everything to control and consolidate my debt. Personal finance loans, switching credit card balances to low apr cards. I was out of work for about 5 months and now my debt/credit ratio is in the crapper. Now I cannot do anything. I tried a personal finance loan, signing up to switch cards, and no one will touch me. I have a good credit score, I never miss a payment and when you look at how much I dole out a month compared to what I would be paying on a loan, I would pass LESS on a loan than I pay a month now. What else can I do? I am drowing under the interest.

ok so i only have 2 credit cards ( these are the only ones i have ever owned) however both are in collection now. the one i owe about $1300 on and the other i owe i believe $1142 im so confused by the collection companies i feel like going through debt consolidation would be better for me so i can make just 1 payment.

so ive been looking online at different companies and all the ones i find look like scams, or cheap companies, does anyone recommend a trusting company? and also the fees that go along with it.

a friend told me she was advised to get a personal loan and pay off the credit cards and then she would just owe the loan, to me it sounds exactly like the debt consolidation service. has anyone else done this and is it different?

so 1. a debt consolidation service that is reliable and trusting with clear understanding of the fees
and 2. is a personal loan different? if so what company could i try to see if im approved?

I am concerned because some say they can garnish my wages; others say they can seize an asset, or two. However, I’ve also been told they can only put a lien on my home and nothing more. Could I go to jail? What can they legally do to me? Can they take my home or personal property? Or just mess my credit up more than it already is? And to boot, we offered to settle this debt with them 14-months ago, they refused to put anything in writing and we never heard from them again, until Friday; right before Christmas!

I need a loan of about $1500 because my account has been frozen until I am able to pay off my debt. Does anyone know any legitimate loans I can get? I also have a joint account with my sister because she was underage when she first signed up for it, and now her account is frozen as well, so I need to come up with the money asap!!!

The $10,000 debt is on one credit card (unsecured). I live in Michigan where garnishment of wages is legal. If I quit my self-employed job and get a “normal” job, will the creditors likely find out, get a judgement against me, and start to garnish my wages?

Anyone with legal training or personal experience with a similar situation? Thanks for any advice.

I cannot refi my house because of a Prepayment penalty. I spoke to my local bank about trying to get a personal loan but it will be at a 20% interest rate at a $500 a month payment for the next 5 years which is really too high to fit in my budget right now. I am thinking about Credit Counseling but I know it totally ruins your credit so I was trying to avoid but it looks like this might be my only option. Anyone ever been through one of these programs? Was it helpful? Any other suggestions?
