Should I raise my personal debt limit? Why or why not?
2 finger salute. Giving my son an allowance is more like a charitable contribution. And allocating funds to the wife for expenses is spending, not income. I’m still at 55K
Erik, companies that do that are now out of business. People who refi are now called under water. Hardly success.
Charles Veidt Only because I can’t print all the money I need.
I’m including a link of debt as percentage of GDP. We surpassed 100% in 2011.

3 Billion a day cost for a out opf control military, added to an already record national debt of 10 Trillion. That, combined with suprprime debacle, rising oil, record personal debts, health care crisis, record trade deficit, sinking Dollar, helpless fed, maniac Bush and a pension crisis, waiting to sink the ship. Why can’t we stop meddling.

According to his article the U.S. owes $53 trillion in long term debt.
If there are 350 million people in America,
“53000000000000/350000000″ = $151,428 per person owed in debt not counting personal debt.
How in the world did America get into such a mess? Shouldn’t half the senate (and congress) be sitting in prison cells for abusing public money in such a fashion – and letting spending to get out of control? How can Americans pay this down? Should we sell the 10 big cities in the USA to the Chinese?

Easy way to assess this would to see how much you owe in debt, what are your assets or saving and what type of income or job security do you have if any?
Other factors may come into play, but it is all ready well established factually that the majority of Americans owe more than they could pay off right now and that all the wealth is in-fact in the hands of the few. So don’t be like the corrupt govt and lie about your situation etc please.

In your opinion, do you believe that the number of American consumers that are in debt today, would be a dramatically lesser figure if commercials were never created (whether it be from TV, radio, internet, billboards etc)? Do you think it would even make a difference? Lastly, would you enjoy TV, radio, the internet, and your drive home from work– waaayy more if advertisements were non-existent? Personally, I can not stand someone trying to sell me “the new something” everyday of my life!
[A side note: A recent study revealed that the average American is able to identify over 1,000 + company's (fast food, clothing brands, car makes/models etc) just from a glimpse of their logos, but could identify less than 10 plants and animals native to their own region]
If anyone even answers…I thank you for your thoughts lol : )

If you find it wrong for our nation to be in debt, do you also feel it is wrong to have personal debt? Are you debt free?
Tone-You are so right! Thumbs up!
I think America could pay off this huge debt. But just like your household budget, we would have to live on one! Which means we would have to cut benefits and the spending problem we currently have. I’m not real sure the American people would be willing to give up welfare and some of the junk spending we seem to have.
I agree Ladyshon. And I don’t think our deficit is made up soley of the war in Iraq. It is also programs that are really not neccessary.
What it all boils down to is this, America needs to get on a budget!!!! And our personal finances too. We don’t HAVE to live like this. Our first obstacle would be to get gas at an affordable rate so that we are not spending so much to get to work, and so much on our necessities.
